Jorge Anaya 

A native of El Salvador, Jorge Anaya is an award-winning singer and songwriter who has performed for audiences nationally and internationally. He has performed at multiple venues in Washington, D.C., including but not limited to: The White House, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, The Shakespeare Theatre Company, Arena Stage, Teatro De La Luna, and GALA Hispanic Theatre.

 

He was thrilled to perform at the Presidential House for the president of El Salvador, Elias Antonio Saca, where he also received recognition as a Salvadorian in the USA inspiring others thru music. He performed at The White House for President Barrack Obama’s Halloween Celebration. He also performed at the Inaugural Ball for President George W. Bush.

 

His inspirational song, “Puede Ser” won first runner up in the nationwide OTI song competition held at the Miami Convention Center  , and he received nationwide recognition again the following year for his song “Tu.”

 

Jorge’s first CD, “The Songs of Jorge Anaya,” includes ten of his original compositions.  

 

Jorge arranged the music in popular traditional children’s songs and wrote original compositions for the award-winning ¡A Bailar! Let’s Dance!,Chachacha! and Sabor! a CD collection of danceable, sing-able, toe-tapping Spanish melodies for kids of all ages.

 

Most recently, Mr. Anaya performed as the lead vocalist of a Cuban band in The Washington Ballet’s performance of “Juanita y Alicia” at  The Shakespeare Theatre Company.   

 

Currently residing in Washington D.C., Jorge’s still performing for cultural, corporal and social events in the DMV area and around the contry.
